This time, I’m visiting Stirling, one of the most historically important cities in Scotland and Scotland’s smallest city. Even though its home to just 35,000 people, Stirling has played a huge role in Scotland’s story.
In this video, I wander through Stirling Old Town, visit Stirling Castle, and explore places closely linked to William Wallace, including the Wallace Monument. I also visit Cambuskenneth Abbey and Bannockburn, the site of one of Scotland’s most important battles for independence, led by Robert the Bruce; the battle of Bannockburn.
Stirling is often visited as a day trip from Edinburgh or a day trip from Glasgow, but it’s compact, walkable, and packed with history and viewpoints.
