Join us on this trek in the Nepal Himalayas as we climb from lush flowering forests into the heart of a Himalayan sanctuary, surrounded by some of the world’s highest mountains. This diverse journey has it all, forest, flowers, waterfalls and rainbows, rain, sunshine, snow storms and ice. Along the way we pass by traditional Nepali villages and share our paths with yaks, goats, donkeys, dogs and some very happy trekkers. We decided to take an alternate route on the popular Annapurna Base Camp Trek. It usually starts at Nayapul or Ghandruk but we started off at Tatopani on the Jomsom side. Like this we could enjoy the hot springs, Rhododendron forests and traditional Nepali village life of the foothills before reaching Ghandruk. From there on we continued on the classic Annapurna Base Camp trek. It was a fantastically diverse trek, weather and scenery wise. When we walk we really take our time, often spending days in a village we enjoy and trying to stay in the quieter, less visited stop overs. Join us on this cinematic journey as we pass through the lush, vibrant forests of the foothills to reach the dramatic, stark beauty of the Annapurna sanctuary. A beautiful temple marks the entry into the sacred Annapurna sanctuary, believed to be watched over by the great Machhapuchhare mountain. At Annapurna Base Camp, one reaches a natural amphitheater, encircled by majestic Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Gangapurna, one really does have the feeling that one has entered the Abode of Gods.
