When the Universe is celebrating “Janmashtami” we are blessed to present “Alaipayuthey Kanna” – an Ode about Radha’s Infinite Love for Krishna. Written By Oothukadu Venkata Kavi in the 18th century, this composition stands as one of the most popular Classical tracks of Tamil Language!
We wanted to interpret this poem in a Unique way which visually portrays Radha’s Mind and Love for Krishna which is deep and as vast as an Ocean.
My quest for the location ended up in one of the most beautiful Sea facing castles at Rumeli Feneri Village, Istanbul, Turkey. If I’m humbly correct this also happens to be the first Carnatic Classical Music Production shot at Turkey.
I express my heartfelt love and admiration for the ace Cinematographer and Guitarist of Istanbul Mr. Alpay Erdem and Mr. Suat Tor who scouted the locations for me and Shot the Video with such brilliance.
Inspite of not being familiar with the Regional Indian Language and Music, their efforts to understand the song and portray my ideas to visuals was indeed commendable. We also thank the Parents of the little angel Aisha who did a Cameo in the video.
