"It was already half past three on the clock, but Mr. Bennett did not sleep. This night was the most exciting and longest for him in his entire life. He lay on his bed and looked at the ceiling. He constantly looked at his watch, but it seemed to him that time was dragging on So slow. There was a cup of brewed tea on the table, a fireplace was burning opposite the bed, and a snowstorm was raging outside the window. Toby the dog was sleeping sweetly by the fire, and Molly the cat laying down in the armchair, they were true friends of Mr. Bennet. Last morning Mr. Bennet wrote a letter to Miss Stewart, in which he confessed his love to her, offered to stay with him and not leave the village. He regularly glanced out the window at Miss Stewart's house, and noticed that there was also a light on in her window. From this, he understood that the letter had also made her nervous. Mr. Bennet did not know when Miss Stewart would answer him, today, tomorrow, or not at all, he could only wait. Opening the front door, he saw a red envelope on the porch, which he immediately picked up. The envelope was signed: "To Mr. Bennet from Miss Stewart." With trembling hands, Mr. Bennet took out a letter, and after a short pause began to read it. A moment later, a happy smile appeared on his face, and joy and love were visible in his eyes. After reading the letter, it was clear that now he was truly happy. "Hi Richard (that was Mr. Bennet's name), I baked a delicious apple pie and made tea, let's have breakfast together?" - there was a female voice from the side.
