DIY DRAINAGE SYSTEM l How to Install - Waterform System - New Sod - Better Landscape Drainage

This video covers all the steps for installing a Waterform Drainage System in a backyard landscape. We excavate, prepare the soil and install step-by-step so your project can run just as smoothly as the water that now drains freely!

We start by determining the right location for the drainage units. This was made easier by a photo from the home-owner showing how badly the water pooled up in front of the steps in her backyard. On top of this, the existing drainage PVC pipes were buried under ground with no hope of draining any water from the soil surface. Because of all this, the house foundation was at risk of becoming damaged from excessive water that didn't drain adequately as well as mold potentially affecting the inside walls. Luckily, the drainage solution we have planned worked a treat and the drainage channel was super simple to install.

Since it was the rainy season, we quickly got to work before the next downpour, and installed two Waterform Drainage units with some PVC piping. We connected the pipes to the existing pipes using PVC glue as they were simply laying passively at the bottom of the wall, and not connected to anything.

We repeated the same installation on the second Waterform unit and then back-filled the area using crushed gravel stones and concrete before topping off with soil and the new sod grass. Once completed, it looked like nothing ever happened in the area and we are sure no water-related issues ever will!
