Extreme winter in the North of Russia. How do the northern Khanty people SURVIVE IN THE TAIGA?
The Khanty are a small indigenous Finno-Ugric people living in the north of Western Siberia, mainly in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Ugra.
The Khanty people are closely connected with the forest (taiga) and rivers of Western Siberia, where their traditional activities are hunting (for fur, elk, bear) using traps, fishing (for muxin, nelma, sturgeon, pike) using boats - oblas, as well as reindeer herding and gathering.
The family of Lyudmila and Vladimir lives in the camp and is engaged in reindeer herding, fishing and collecting wild plants. They have three adult children, who also have their own farm at the camp.
