In this lesson, your piano teacher Kevin Castro will teach you how to play the minor blues scale and 3 different blues licks that are based on this scale.
What is the minor blues scale? The minor blues scale is built by adding a b5 interval to the minor pentatonic scale, forming the pattern 1-b3-4-b5-5-b7. This scale is used to solo over just about any chord or key including major keys, minor keys, major chords, minor chords, blues progressions, and more... but the best part is, it's super simple because it only has six notes!
It has a powerful, soulful, and often melancholic timbre. It is used across many styles of music including Boogie-Woogie, traditional twelve-bar Blues, Soul, Jazz, RnB, and Funk.
