To me, finally getting "The Place Where It Rained", is a perfect way to tie back together the last 10 years of figuring this guy out. It may not confirm anything just yet, but it certainly has been a long time coming

The lyrics are written from Sans' perspective after meeting the old lady at the door, as he reflects on his situation and coming to terms with it

Is it canon? Not yet. Does that stop me? Nope.
