Shirakawago is one of Japan's famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You've seen it in pictures and anime (town of Hinamizawa as portrayed in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series). Let's explore this snowy wonderland!

Experience serene Shirakawago, a historic village in the well-known Hida Region. Tucked into the Japanese Alps, Shirakawago becomes a picturesque snowy village, but is wonderful to visit in any season!

Shirakawago can be reached by bus from Toyama, Kanazawa or Takaoka - These three cities can be reached directly from Tokyo by Hokuriku Shinkansen. It will take about five hours of travel time to reach Shirakwago from Tokyo.
