What does the Sun sound like? Scientists at Sheffield University recorded the sound of the sun. For some, this solar sound was a musical harmony. But for anyone familiar with the Vedic philosophy, it sounded exactly like Om. NASA also recorded the sound of the Sun and interestingly, an Australian Sound Engineer and University Lecturer from Adelaide studied the frequency charts of NASA's sound of the sun and Om chanted by a Vedic Scholar and found the results astounding. The frequency charts matched with similar crests and troughs.
In this exclusive WION interview, Shivan Chanana speaks with the man who helmed the research on the sound of the sun at Sheffield University about whether the sound of the sun and Om have a connection. Professor Robertus Erdelyi is the Head of Solar Physics and Space Plasma Research Centre in School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Sheffield, UK. He's been awarded innumerable times for outstanding contributions to solar theory over the decades.
