By overwhelming request, no talking in the intro, louder volume and a dark screen for this remixed smoothed and reworked version of Orange Noise. I created the first version in 2021 for the Noise Ambient channel. I read your comments and a lot of you wanted no talking in the intro and a louder overall volume. Let me just say, the introduction provides the creation context for the viewer; the thought process, method, the artistry and the love that goes into the creation of these noise ambient listening experiences. Here is the new and improved, slightly tweaked version for you all.
The creation process:
Remix, remaster, new audio clip:
Many requested a louder version and it is a fine line between too loud and to low in volume. You see, if I make the output volume too loud, the decoding in YouTube will automatically lower the level. If I make it too low, YT will increase the level. Neither is ideal from my standpoint as an audio engineer. In fact, there are loudness standards in place using a measurement called (can you guess) "Loudness Units - LU". The issue is loudness, when it comes to noise, compared to voice and music, is trickier to get right. Furthermore, many listener's phones, tablets, and low quality headphones will not faithfully reproduce the low frequency bass energy in the creation. A phone will not simply have better bass by turning up the volume. Speakers and great headphones will provide the best listening experience. And, I try to make the sound on small speakers and tiny headphones as good as it can be. Careful equalization (EQ) and limiting has been applied to this remix/remaster. So you can turn it up, but alas, if it is too loud on a phone of tablet, some mild crackling may be noticed pushing the tiny speakers to the brink.
No Voiceover:
You wanted no voice in the intro, and I removed it, falling back on text in video for the explanation. As a creator, I am constantly experimenting with techniques to connect you viewers to my work. Voiceovers have done this well, despite few creators doing this in the niche. I have backed off on this approach only doing it on 20% of the videos currently created. This is a listening experience after all, and my methods continue to evolve to interject a dash of knowledge, authenticity, humor into the explanations. This is a video platform, so dark screen only takes us half way. I also talk as a guarantee of the creation originality rather than a knockoff. Often, completely original ideas are cloned by other "creators". It is flattering I suppose and makes me dive deeper into original heartfelt content for you all.
So to you viewers, I encourage you to click on my versions when doing a search. And to the copycats, I might be putting digital audio watermarks in the videos :) . So, just to make your versions from scratch like I do and enjoy the many hours of work that go into an original creation process.
