Reading and Northern 425: Thundering through the Fall Foliage
On October 17 and 18, 2015, I ventured out to the βRoad of Anthracite", also known as the Reading and Northern Railroad. On these two beautiful fall days, the railroad's 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive #425 pulled the annual Autumn Leaf Excursions. These trips ran from the railroad's headquarters in Port Clinton, Pennsylvania, to the historic town of Jim Thorpe. Once the train arrived in Jim Thorpe, the passengers had a 3 hour layover before heading back to Port Clinton. Along with trackside footage, you will also see some excellent pacing footage of 425 along certain parts of the line! So sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of 425 on the Autumn Leaf Excursions! More videos coming soon!
