As he watches trick-or-treaters parade by, Sprout feels proud to play his part in the magic of the night… but he wonders what happens to pumpkins after Halloween is over.

Then, from the shadows, appears Bramble — a tiny mouse in a red dress with a green patch on the skirt and a travel bundle slung over her shoulder. She’s a wanderer, always searching for a place that feels like home. When Bramble stops to rest beside Sprout, an unlikely friendship begins. Together, they imagine what it might be like if Sprout were a house — complete with curtains, shelves, and a bed made from a tuna can. Before long, their daydream becomes real, and Bramble sets to work turning the pumpkin into a cozy, glowing home of her own.

As the stars twinkle above, and their new raccoon friend Munchy pops by for a visit, Sprout realizes that his purpose isn’t just to shine on Halloween night — it’s to give warmth and comfort beyond it. And when Bramble whispers, “You don’t make an excellent house, Sprout… you make an excellent home,” he finally understands what belonging truly means.

It’s a gentle, safe for kids story about kindness, creativity, and the joy of finding where — and with whom — you belong.
