For most of my life, I assumed sleeping in a bed was just “how it’s done.”
Six years ago, that changed.
I haven’t laid down in a bed in over six years. I sleep in a recliner — every night — and I sleep better now than I ever did before.
This wasn’t a plan. It was something I stumbled into after years of back problems, breathing issues at night, and struggling to get comfortable in a bed. I noticed I would fall asleep quickly in my recliner, breathe better, and wake up with less back pain. Over time, I realized something important: my body was telling me what worked.
Sleeping flat never worked for me. Sleeping inclined did.
