Social anxiety disorder (S.A.D.) is characterized by a chronic uncontrollable fear stemming from social situations. People with social anxiety disorder may feel fear from being around a group of people, from one on one encounters, or even from imagining being around others. This disorder leads to social isolation and avoidance. You might be wondering what is happening within the brain of someone with S.A.D.
