Dark Souls - The Firelink Shrine Bonfire

"If you require rest, now is the time. That is, after all, what the bonfire is for."
The atmosphere of Dark Souls parallels that of life's perfectly: horrendous here, yet beautiful there. Thus, I took to writing a poem on what I hear the bonfire whisper to me as I rest beside its flame.

The Bonfire

Thou art chosen, yet thy choice remains
To save thy losses or gamble thy gains,
For in these lands that brim with death,
None shall guard thy hearth nor breath.

Hast thou fondness of thy days’ past,
Or hath a horror fueled thy wrath?
Indeed, our toils sow many a seed
Deeply in soils that smile and weep.

Thy kin of undead are wary and frail
Such that rubble be far more hale.
Pray, which purpose windeth thy sail?
Pray, which fate weaveth thy tale?

Ah, save thy resolve for paths ahead
Lest sanity truly abandon thy head.
If thou return from lands ne’er tamed,
Seek me anew in a warmth e’er flamed.
