If you saw an ad, it wasn't due to me. I did not and would not monetize this video.
This was not on YouTube, so I had to upload it. I don't own the rights to the STILL FRAME IMAGE from Evangelion, or also, obviously, the greatest performance of the greatest song in all of history.
This track is taken from The Evangelion Addition CD and was also released on Evangelion Classical vol 1. This is the same performance featured in episode 24 of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and in Evangelion: Death. Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Conducted by Alexander Rahbari and performed by the BRTN Philharmonic Orchestra Brussels.
You will notice the audio has been compressed. I did this because the environment in which music listening takes place has changed. I simply can't play it loudly enough to hear the quiet stuff without the loud stuff potentially bothering my neighbors.
I'm not completely satisfied with the compression here, either. But then, I'm rarely satisfied with my work. If you understand audio compression better than me, some pointers would be quite welcome. What settings would you recommend? I didn't want to go overboard or anything. Just to bring up the quiet stuff.

The science of sound therapy draws from multiple disciplines: psychology, neuroscience, and acoustic ecology. Research consistently shows that ambient sounds can modulate autonomic nervous system activity, shifting the body from stress response (sympathetic activation) toward relaxation response (parasympathetic activation). This occurs through multiple pathways: masking of disruptive environmental sounds, providing gentle cognitive engagement that prevents anxious rumination, and creating predictable soundscapes that signal safety to primitive brain regions. Regular exposure to relaxing audio can help establish positive feedback loops where the brain learns to associate certain sounds with calm states.
