Installing Foundation Drain Pipe (Part 1)
Let me show how we put drain tile and gravel around the warehouse we’re building.
First, we had to dig out this RDC that the foundation guys put in to bridge the footing so they could back a dump truck into the foundation.
We wanted our 4” ADS pipe to sit directly on top of the footer, this meant scraping away the extra concrete that got on the footers when the walls were poured, along with shoveling out the mud and rocks that had caved in.
This ADS pipe is slotted so it can absorb water.
I like to add a few short sheet metal screws in all the fittings so that nothing pulls apart when we’re installing the pipe.
Then I wrap the pipe in filter fabric to keep silt from getting in.@hausplans
