This new episode of Vivaldi's complete Op.1-12 contains the 12 violin concertos Op.7, published in Amsterdam in 1720. Driven by the popular success of La Stravaganza and the already published L'Estro Armonico, Vivaldi wrote these concertos in the same vein: brilliant, spectacular, full of vitality accentuated by the colors of the Mediterranean.
Antonio Vivaldi and Claudio Scimone, two names forever bound to each other in a quest for orininality and beauty. The one as a baroque genius to be rediscovered after two centuries of neglect, the other as a resolutely modern conductor and Vivaldiβs rediscover as from the β60s.
