Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage for Sinus and Ear Infections, Cold & Flu Season and Allergies
In this video, lymphatic drainage expert, Dr Melissa Gallagher, will demonstrate a lymphatic facial massage technique that you can perform on yourself to help reduce puffiness, sinus congestion, and alleviate allergy symptoms.
The lymphatic system plays a vital role in the body's immune response and helps to remove toxins and waste from the body. A lymphatic facial massage can help to stimulate the lymphatic system, promoting lymphatic drainage, and reducing swelling in the face.
To perform this technique, start by opening up your duct above your left breast. .Using light, circular motions, gently massage the duct. Then move to lymph nodes located above the clavical bone. Lymphatic drainage massage that area in gentle circular motions. Then move up to lymph nodes on either side of your neck just below your ears. This will help to stimulate the lymphatic system and encourage lymphatic drainage.
Next, using gentle sweeping motions, massage the area around your eyes, including your eyebrows, eyelids, and the bridge of your nose. This can help to reduce puffiness and alleviate sinus congestion.
Moving on to your cheeks, use upward and outward motions to massage the area just below your cheekbones. This can help to reduce swelling in the face and promote lymphatic drainage.
Finally, using gentle strokes, massage the area around your jawline and chin, moving towards your lymph nodes on either side of your neck. This will help to further stimulate lymphatic drainage and reduce puffiness in the face.
Repeat this lymphatic drainage massage technique daily to help reduce puffiness, sinus congestion, and allergy symptoms.Allergy season is upon us and it's time to be proactive in addressing sinus congestion, pressure in the head and swollen lymph nodes.
As a Lymphatic Drainage Therapist, clearing the lymphatics of the head and neck is so important to keeping the immune system functioning optimally.
In this video I show you how to do your own manual lymphatic drainage techniques to keep the ear, nose and throat lymphatic passages open and moving well.
